Q- Who would be the audience for your media project?
The age that I would think would be right for my school magazine would be 11-18 , this is purely because the students that come to this school and sixth form are between these ages and will be the ones benefiting from the magazine and the ones who will enjoy it as it has all school information on there and topics about music and fashion which these age ranges are interested in. I made my magazine appealing to the students by using bright colour so it catches there eye and by using images so it looks fun and is interesting to look at.
What have you been taught about technologies form the process of constructing this product?
Whilst creating this magazine I have used many new different websites and was able to learn many more skills through this. When I first started using Adobe Fireworks I had no clue how to use it as I had always used work, as I carried on using it I got more used to it and I just kept on trying out new things with it to improve my skills. Once it came to creating my final school magazine I was completely confident with using fireworks and I preferred using this than word.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of school magazines?
My final school magazine uses, develops and challenges the forms and conventions of a typical school magazine through the way I have for example created my masthead, it is big, bold and is in black and red which represents the school colours and stands out, also its unique to have 2 different colours on one mast head with the back ground behind the works "brooks news" as red and black. My main image is of a student, in a library reading a book which represents a situation you would be in at school, this is good quality as I took it on a good camera, its common to have a main image on the front of a magazine to engage the audience.
To challenge the conventions of school magazines I have used around 4-5 pictures on my contents page
which from my research I found that not many school magazines do this, down to this i feel like it makes my magazine a little more unique than the others and makes it stand out
